Balwanth Singh is the bodyguard of Sartaj Rana (Raj Babbar) with high competencies. During one night, Balwanth, along with his pregnant wife, meet with an accident proving fatal for Balwanth while his wife is rescued by Sartaj, and she later gives birth to a child named Lovely. Lovely Singh (Salman Khan), now grown up, works in a security agency. On Sartaj’s order, Lovely busts a human trafficking racket operated by Ranjan Mahatre (Mahesh Manjrekar) and his brothers. Fearing revenge from his enemies, Sartaj calls upon Lovely and appoints him as the Bodyguard of his daughter Divya (Kareena Kapoor).

Lovely Singh is very devoted to his duties but eventually irritates Divya all the time by following her everywhere from her college campus to her classroom. Consequently, Divya and her friend Maya (Hazel Keech) call Lovely from a private mobile number and start a prank love affair, hoping to keep him away from them. Initially hesitant, Lovely gradually starts loving the mystery girl Chhaya but doesn't realise that it is actually Divya calling her as Chhaya. Meanwhile, Lovely protects Divya on many occasions from the attacks of Ranjan Mahatre and his goons. This results in Divya too falling in love with Lovely but is scared to reveal her identity due to Lovely’s immense devotions towards his duties and her father. Further some circumstances lead Sartaj to begin suspecting that Lovely and Divya are in love and they might elope. He sends his men to kill Lovely in case his lover turns out to be Divya. Divya convinces her father that they are not running away and instead Lovely’s love is someone else and is waiting for him at the railway station. Sensing that Lovely might be heartbroken if he does not meet his lover at the station, Divya sends her friend Maya to tell Lovely her true identity. Lovely, after waiting for long at the station platform, finally sees Maya and asks her why she didn't tell him that she is Chhaya. Maya tries to tell him that Divya is Chhaya, but sees one of Sartaj's men in the compartment, waiting for her to answer Lovely. Maya is forced to tell Lovely that she is Chhaya and she loves him As Lovely and Maya hug, Divya calls. In the spur of the moment, Maya throws her phone out of the train, thus erasing Divya out of their love life completely. They both get married but soon Maya dies after giving birth to a child. She writes notes to their son in a diary about the fraud she committed with her best friend Divya and asks him to unite Lovely and Divya.

Several years later, Sartaj invites Lovely and his son to his house, and apologises for his behaviour. Lovely believed that Divya is married and happily settled in London but is shocked to see her there in the house and had still not married, while her look was like married woman. His son grows closer to Divya and even apologises on his mother’s behalf. On their last day of visit, while leaving, he asks Divya to accompany him as his mother. Infuriated Lovely asks his son to apologise to Divya but he refuses and walks away. Sartaj tells Lovely that he too feels the same and requests him to take Divya with him to which Lovely gets obliged to accept. At the railway station, Lovely and his son are accompanied by Divya. His son secretly throws away Maya's diary into trash but is eventually recovered by Lovely. On reading it, he discovers that Divya was his actual lover Chhaya. He calls Divya on her cellphone and addresses her as Chhaya. Divya is overwhelmed with joy and happiness realising that Lovely has come to know of the truth and her identity. The film's production company, Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd, was bought by Reliance Entertainment for INR 64 crore. This earned Reliance the co-producer status and an equal share in the IPR for perpetuity.[9]

Neerupa Menon, a mutual friend of director Siddique and Alvira Khan, introduced him to Alvira and Atul Agnihotri, the to-be co-producers of the film, suggesting that he should venture into Bollywood. Siddique sent his original Malayalam film to Alvira and Atul as a result of the suggestion and they convinced Salman Khan to watch the film. After watching the film, Khan was very impressed with it and agreed to do the Hindi remake.[10]

Shooting for the film began on 16 January 2011 at the Symbiosis International University campus situated in Lavale, Pune. The classrooms and academic block of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management were used in the Lavale campus. The shooting later continued in the town of Patiala (Punjab).[11] Two songs from the film were scheduled to be shot in Europe but were later shifted to Film City in Mumbai to cut costs as the film had already exceeded its initial budget.[12]Bodyguard opened across 2,250 screens in 70 Indian cities and with 482 prints across the overseas territory, released in Dolby Surround 7.1.[9][13] Reliance Entertainment set aside a marketing and print budget of around INR22 crore (US$4 million) for the film, one of the highest ever in Bollywood.[9] The satellite rights of the film were sold to STAR network for INR27 crore (US$4.91 million) for seven years.[9]Upon release, the film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave a score of 4/5 and said "BODYGUARD works for varied reasons – it has a simple, captivating story with a dramatic twist in the tale, the chemistry between the lead actors is poor but the music is well juxtaposed in the narrative. But its biggest USP is, without doubt, Salman Khan. He carries the film on his broad and brawny shoulders and that alone is the imperative reason for watching this film."[14] Komal Nahta of Koimoi, while praising the performance of Salman Khan, gave it a rating of 4/5 and wrote, "Bodyguard will prove to be a hit because of Salman Khan's performance."[15] Zee News gave the film 4 stars and praised the directorial skills of Siddique: "Kudos to filmmaker Siddique to have presented Salman Khan in a way never seen before! And the action sequences are breathtaking."[16] Oneindia.in awarded the movie 4 stars and stated, "Overall, Bodyguard is a good masala entertainer and it can be a perfect time-passer for this Eid and Ganesh festive seasons. Salman's fans should not miss to watch this movie."[17] Samay Live gave it 4 stars and wrote; "There are stunning events of twist in the film which will keep you stay with your seats till the end.[18] Shivesh Kumar of IndiaWeekly awarded the movie 4 out of 5 stars.[19] Kaveree Bamzai of India Today awarded the movie 3 stars and stated: "Anyone who has watched Khan's recent movies will recognise the signs – a killer dialogue which will be remembered till the next blockbuster is manufactured, a signature ring tone, and a pre-fight ritual-in this case, it is taking off his watch.[20] In his review for The Times of India, Gaurav Malani wrote: "Salman Khan is cool and convincing in the title role. His subdued act and charming innocence wins your heart. Kareena Kapoor is likeable ... Bodyguard doesn't catch you off guard. But it's a decent entertainer nonetheless."[21] Phelim O'Neill of The Guardian praised the technical aspects of the film and awarded three of five stars: "Bollywood movies have improved dramatically in technical terms over the last few years. Here the fight and stunt sequences are afforded as much care and attention as the song and dance scenes; it's all top-notch stuff."[22] Daily Bhaskar awarded the movie three out of five stars and wrote: "Salman, Kareena and Siddique serve a good Eid biryani for the audience by blending romance, action and comedy."[23] Shubha Shetty-Saha of MiD DAY gave it two and a half stars saying, "The film is obviously not expected to be intellectually stimulating. But to give it due credit, it provides loads of entertainment, the kind you may have come to expect of a Salman Khan film."[24] Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave it 2.5 of 5 stars and stated: "A standard entertainer with generic ingredients like action, emotion, romance, comedy, song and dance, the Hindi remake of Malayalam super-hit Bodyguard is like a mediocre Pizza Margherita that's gone stingy on the mozzarella, bland on the sauce with nothing except a half-crunchy base and uneven scattering of basil leaves."[25]

The film also received a few negative reviews. Andy Webster of the New York Times said "If only the film’s archly slick director, Siddique, had adopted the same winking attitude toward the romantic arc. A twist near the end sends this contrived movie into a maudlin stratosphere from which it doesn’t recover. But at least, in Ms. Keech’s supporting presence, understated yet palpable, we sense a performer of emerging, and remarkable, star power."[26] Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India gave 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote, "The film, a remake of a South Indian hit, may end up as another blockbuster, like most Salman films have been doing in the recent past. Yet, sadly, this one's mostly bluster."[27] Sonia Chopra from Sify gave the film 2.5 stars and said "Bodyguard is endurable (and I say this without any condescension) for those who can forgive the haphazard story and be happy enjoying the songs and watching Salman and Kareena onscreen."[28] Saibal Chatterjee from NDTV gave the film 2/5 stars and concluded that "If you value the mop on your scalp and the grey cells in your head and want guard yourself against this potentially mind-numbing body blow, give it a miss. Better be safe than sorry!"[29] Aniruddha Guha of Daily News and Analysis gave it 2 stars and wrote: "Salman is charming as ever, and the fact that he’s playing a slightly different character would have actually worked to the film’s advantage if it was backed by a better script."[30] Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave it 2 out of 5 stars and called it a lazy remake.[31] Mayank Shekhar of Hindustan Times panned the film giving it one and a half stars. He argued that the film "for more parts, is a sappy romantic pap".[32] Shubra Gupta from The Indian Express also gave it one and a half stars and said "'Bodyguard' can also safely be called In which Salman Continues to Give Us Those Ones."[33]Upon release, the film opened to a phenomenal response at the domestic box office and packed cinema halls, "witnessing 100% occupancy across shows", according to The Economic Times.[34] BoxOfficeIndia.com reported that "Bodyguard has smashed all records"[35] and the film went on to become the highest opener of all time across India, grossing INR21.25 crore (US$3.87 million), thus breaking the record of Dabangg (2010).[36] The film grossed an additional INR17.25 crore (US$3.14 million)[37] and INR13.25 crore (US$2.41 million) on its second and third day respectively, bringing the total nett collections to INR52 crore (US$9.46 million).[38] On its fourth day of release, it netted around INR14.75 crore (US$2.68 million),[39] and INR18.75 crore (US$3.41 million) on its fifth day, taking the total nett collection over the extended five-day weekend to INR85.50 crore (US$15.56 million).[40] The film continued its successful run at the box office netting INR8.58 crore (US$1.56 million) on Monday,[41] INR6.5 crore (US$1.18 million) on Tuesday,[42] and INR5.5 crore (US$1 million) on Wednesday.[43] The total nett collections of the extended nine-day first week were INR109.47 crore (US$19.92 million).[44] During its second weekend, the film raked in another INR14 crore (US$2.55 million) nett.[45]Bodyguard netted a total of INR140.95 crore (US$25.65 million) in India at the end of its run.[46]Meanwhile, the film grossed a record-breaking 1.1 million Dirhams on Tuesday, its opening day in Dubai,[47] making it the highest opening day ever.[48] The film collected $1.25 million in four days, and $1.7 million in six days in the United Arab Emirates.[49] In the United Kingdom, the film ranked at number 9 in the UK Top 10,[50] and collected an impressive £64,000 on Tuesday, its first day of release, though it was a limited release with screens at only 32 cinemas. After the release of Dabangg, producer Arbaaz Khan announced that he was planning a sequel to Dabangg.[d 1] Soon after the blockbuster collections of the film, Khan reported "Dabangg 2 may take time to hit the floors, but it is definitely on the cards."[d 2] He also announced that the main leads, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha were already casted to reprise their parts in the sequel.[d 3] Her main look was also taken from the first and consisted of a yellow saree, a long plait with flowers in her hair.[d 4] When director Abhinav Kashyap opted out of directing the sequel, Arbaaz Khan himself jumped in as the film's director.[d 5] Prakash Raj was confirmed to have been chosen to play the main villain.[d 6] Kareena Kapoor has been roped in to play an item number in the film,[d 7][d 8] despite initial reports considering Katrina Kaif for the role.[d 9]

Dabangg 2 is valued INR 180 crore.[d 10] In Feb 2012,it was reported that distribution rights were sold to UTV Motion Pictures for a price of INR140 crore, the highest for a Bollywood film till date.[d 11] But later UTV Motion Pictures reported the news as completely fake & nonsense. UTV Motion Pictures has brushed aside rumours of purchasing the rights of the sequel to Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer, Dabangg 2 for INR140 crore.[d 12] The national emblem framed on the wall of Chulbul Pandey's police station was depicted incorrectly. The last schedule has been planned to be shot at Satara.[f 3] Three days after the film went on floors, it was reported that Salman Khan replaced cinematographer, K. K. Senthil Kumar, with Aseem Kumar.[f 6] A song titled "Fevicol" was choreographed as a dance number and considered as an equivalent to "Munni Badnaam Hui" from Dabangg.[f 7] Reports indicating that Salman would essay an important involvement in the director's role were dismissed by Arbaaz.[f 8]Dabangg 2 received mixed to negative reviews from critics in India. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and said "Dabangg 2 has Salman Khan, Salman Khan and Salman Khan plus entertainment, entertainment and entertainment in large doses".[r 1] Resham Sengar of Zee TV rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, noting "But the actor cum director has kept the standards of the film intact like a pro. So much so that it was hard to believe that a newbie in film making has directed the film. So, go on and book your ticket to enjoy this paisa vasool film with your friends and family and don’t forget to grab a tub of popcorn".[r 2] Srijana Mitra Das of The Times of India gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars and praised the overall style.[11] Mid-Day gave it 3 out of 5 stars and said the film was a treat for diehard Salman Khan fans.[r 3] Rubina Khan of First Post India gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and said it didn't matter what score she gave the film, it would still do great business.[r 4] Filmfare stated "Dabangg 2 is a fanboy's dream and wouldn't disappoint the first comer either".[r 5]

Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV gave the film a score 2.5 out of 5 stars reviewing "This film might also end up raking in a much larger box office booty than Dabangg did, but assessed strictly as a pure entertainer designed for instant mass gratification, it isn’t half as successful. Unfortunately, the Dabangg 2 screenplay is devoid of any fresh ideas".[r 6] Gaurav Malani, also from The Times of India gave the film a mixed review and recommended skipping it by "watching reruns of Dabangg on television".[r 7] Raja Sen of Rediff gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars and felt Dabangg 2 was less unwatchable than its predecessor and it had "absolutely nothing new to offer, and nothing to remember, quote or take away from the theatre".[r 8] The Indian Express rated the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and said "Arbaaz should have given himself some more time" to make the film watchable.[r 9] Stardust publishers Manga gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars also calling it a "one-time watch potboiler".[r 10] Anupama Chopra of the Hindustan Times gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and said Dabangg 2 does not match "the zing of the original" and "there wasn't one line that stayed with me after the film".[r 11] Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and stated what the "film needed was personality and character, what it's left with is sameness. IGN gave the film 4.5 out of 10 stars and criticized the weak script and direction. Mufaddal Fakhruddin wrote "the screenplay and script is majorly lacking, and whatever story it does have is stretched out in a way that it becomes blatantly obvious. There were number of times where I went, "why did I just watch this scene?". Dabangg 2 felt lost. They say not all those who wander are lost, but Dabangg 2 actually is.[r 19] Digital Spy gave the film 2 out of 5 stars and objected to the content. Priya Joshi wrote "Khan revels in the shameless display of narcissism, but there is little to commend the performance. The dialog is trite, there is no depth to the characters and most of the effort has been applied to the elaborate fight sequences. With the emphasis on violence and the objectifying of women, it's a step back in time, where the women are either dutiful, temple-going housewives or cleavage-baring prostitutes". Joshi recommended skipping the film and added instead of watching it, we could "use the time, perhaps more wisely, pondering whether we have enough brussels for Christmas dinner".[r 20] Asian review website Wogma rated the film 1.18 out of 5 and criticized all aspects, from direction to performances by the lead actors. The reviewer broke down the rating of the film and gave "1 out of 5 for direction, 1 out of 5 for the story, 1 out of 5 for lead actors performances, 2 out of 5 for character artists, 2 out of 5 for dialogues, 1 out of 5 for screenplay, 1.5 out of 5 for the music, and 1 out of 5 for lyrics".[r 21] Simon Abrams of The Village Voice said "before they really screw up [the film], Dabangg 2's creators do a good job of not taking themselves too seriously".[r 22] Trisha Gupta from First Post International said the film was a rehash of Dabangg.[r 23] Instead of giving a review, the New York Daily Times objected to the content of the film. Quoting William Nicholas Gomes, a visiting fellow at the University of York, they said Dabangg 2 "glorified the practice of torture by police forces" and would "raise wider public support in favour of torture and ill treatment [of prisoners] in custody".[r 24]Dabangg 2 received negative reviews from critics overseas. Kareena Kapoor Hot Photo Biography
Famous actor Armaan Kapoor dies in a mysterious car accident. There are no signs of sabotage or any indications that Armaan tried to kill himself. As the nearby area is a well known red light district, the investigation becomes complicated. Inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat is saddled with the investigation. Surjan and his wife Roshni's relationship has soured after accidental drowning of their son Karan. Surjan immerses himself in the case.

Preliminary investigation makes Surjan think that Armaan's death is related to blackmail, which leads him to Hotel Lido, a hotel used for prostitution ring. The investigation comes to a standstill there. Meanwhile, a pimp named Shashi is shocked to learn of Armaan's death, but tries to keep it a secret from his mistress Mallika and his deputy Temur. It is revealed that Armaan had paid that money to Shashi, but the latter knows nothing about what happened to Armaan. Here,Surjan runs into an escort named Rosie, who gives him a tip.

Surjan makes some more headway and correctly surmises that Shashi is the blackmailer. Meanwhile, a woman named Frenny comes to meet Roshni on the pretext that they are neighbours and secretly pockets an old photo of Karan. Here, Surjan interrogates both Mallika and Temur, who don't know Shashi's whereabouts. On learning about the blackmail, Temur becomes greedy. He calls a number from Shashi's old SIM, which he had earlier pocketed. It is revealed that after Armaan's death, Shashi has started blackmailing Armaan's friend Sanjay.

Mistakenly assuming that Shashi has become greedy, Sanjay has him killed. Here, Surjan runs into Frenny at a society function, where she reveals that Karan has a message to give to him. Surjan, who believes that Frenny is trying to fleece them, scolds her, but Roshni secretly starts meeting her. Here, Rosie starts giving information to Surjan whenever he hits a roadblock. After learning of Shashi's death, Temur decides to find out the truth. He sends Mallika back to prostitution in order to procure a bag that was with Shashi.

He finds a CD in the bag and starts watching it. In the CD, old footage of Lido shows Armaan, Sanjay and a third person - along with Rosie. Flashback reveals that Rosie was injured that day and Shashi had arranged for her treatment in private. Now, Temur blackmails Sanjay and it is implied that he and Rosie are playing a con. Here, in another meeting of Surjan and Rosie, she reveals that she had gone once with Armaan and his other friend, although she was ordered for their third friend Nikhil. Surjan goes to meet Nikhil on an impulse, only to find that Nikhil has been paralysed and bedridden since 3 years.

Meanwhile, Surjan learns about Roshni and Frenny's secret meetings. He has a shouting match with Roshni, where she accuses him of having an affair. Surjan doesn't retaliate and that same night, meets Rosie again. Rosie tells Surjan to rescue Mallika, who is in great trouble. Surjan saves Mallika from prostitution and in gratitude, Mallika decides to tell him the truth. Surjan realizes that Temur had an idea what this was all about, and now plans to keep Shashi's plan going. Here, Temur has made a plan, according to which he will take the money from Sanjay and give it to Nirmala, a prostitute he has a soft corner for. He assumes that she will decamp with the money if Sanjay double-crosses him.

Sanjay is called on the Church Gate Station with money. Just as Temur predicted, Sanjay sends goons after Temur to kill. Temur gives the money to Nirmala and gets caught by the goons after giving them a short chase. After being convinced that Temur is the only one who knows the secret, Sanjay orders the goons on the phone to kill Temur. Accordingly, they shoot him and live him to die on a construction site. As Temur is dying, he sees Rosie, who is apparently mad at him for double-crossing her. Temur plummets to death, while his killer slips off the stairs while trying to flee.

The killer is caught by Surjan, upon which he tells Surjan that he was hired by Sanjay. Surjan arrives with his subordinates at Sanjay's residence. On learning that he has been busted, Sanjay decides to tell the truth. He reveals that 3 years ago, he and Armaan were celebrating their friend Nikhil's birthday. Despite their protests, Nikhil ordered an escort named Simran from Hotel Lido. Nikhil tried to have sex with Simran in their car, but the car door unexpectedly opened, throwing both him and Simran on the road.

The boys took Nikhil to the hospital and fearing humiliation, asked Shashi to take care of her. Later, Shashi sent them the surveillance tape and started blackmailing them by telling them that Simran died. Surjan watches the footage and is surprised to see Rosie. After putting two and two together, Sanjay and Surjan realize that Shashi and Rosie aka "Simran" were duping them. Surjan hauls Sanjay to the police station. While driving, Surjan scolds Sanjay for what he did. Suddenly Surjan sees "Simran" in his rear view mirror.

He turns back, only to see that there is nobody there. Here, Sanjay is frightened - Surjan is driving his van into "Simran", who has appeared on the middle of the road from nowhere. Sanjay forcefully turns the van steering, causing it to fall in the water, just like Armaan's car did. Surjan finds himself trapped in the van and Sanjay dead. He tries to escape from the van that has drowned, when he sees "Simran" swimming towards the van. Simran rescues him.

With all the principle people in the case dead and the case officially closed, Surjan realizes that he was being led to the killers by Simran's ghost all along. # Aditi Vasudev as Mallika (Shashi's Girl Friend)
# Subrat Dutta as ShashiFollowing the release of her first film, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Kagti was approached and offered to direct many films by several production houses.[14] However, unable to find any films that interested her, she began working on a new script with her friend Zoya Akhtar in early 2010.[14] Speaking about it, she said, "Zoya and I thought of the story and co-wrote it. We do a lot of writing together. We are also best friends so it is fun and there is a huge comfort factor."[14] Initially, Saif Ali Khan was approached to play the male lead but didn't sign the project due to date issues.[15] Upon finalizing the story, she approached Aamir Khan with the script in November 2010 and he agreed to produce and star in it.[16] Since the start of pre-production, the project has faced several speculations regarding its title.[17] In November 2011, Khan confirmed that the film was titled Talaash: The Answer Lies Within.[17]

In an interview with The Indian Express, Kagti revealed that a few months before casting Khan in the film, she had approached him with another project.[18] Later, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor were signed on to star opposite Khan.[19] Prior to the start of principal photography, the actors attended acting workshops and signed a non-disclosure agreement.[20] To prepare for a key scene in the film, Khan took swimming lessons.[21]The principal photography for the film started in March 2011 with Khan and Mukerji in Mumbai.[8] For a scene involving Khan and Kapoor, it was reported that both the actors would shoot in a red-light district.[22] However, Kagti dismissed it and explained that it wouldn't be safe to do so. The scene was later shot at the Leopold Cafe on Colaba Causeway.[20] The film's second phase continued with the entire cast in Pondicherry and was completed by the end of August.[23] The final phase was expected to commence the following month in Khopoli with an underwater shot.[24]

Aamir, who never knew how to swim went under rigorous training for this underwater sequence. He was trained for three months under a specialist trainer and went well prepared for the shoot.[25] Due to visibility problems, it was cancelled and later filmed at an undisclosed water studio in London.[26] The filming was completed by November 2011 after some of the remaining shots were executed at the Bandstand Promenade.[27]Indiaglitz quoted, "Once again Ram Sampath has an unmatched compilation of tracks here. Along with Javed Akhtar's fantastic lyrics they have created a masterpiece here."[28] Bollyspice reviewed the album stating, "The soundtrack to Talaash is like a box of chocolates: it contains a little ‘good’ and a little ‘not so good’ in it. Yet it is still an album that is worth listening!".[29] Rediff reviewed, "Except a steady undercurrent of anxiety, the soundtrack of Talaash doesn't have a fixed theme or ambiance. Every song belongs to a unique genre and fosters the enigma of Kagti's suspense drama. And that's what makes Sampath's efforts truly appreciable."[30] Planet Bollywood said, "A film made by Aamir Khan Productions doesn’t need an item song or song for the masses to make it successful. Instead the music is made solely for the film in mind. If the listener can appreciate it before the release of the film then that is a bonus but that’s not essential."[31] Sify quoted, "Overall, the soundtrack is not out-of-the-box, but the overdose of electronic music doesn't bother either. Thus, it's an album which may not top the charts, but some songs could definitely make their way into many people's personal playlists."[32] Gomolo stated, "Ram Sampath is continuously giving very fresh and stunning music for Aamir. The album is full of fresh, scrumptious and susceptible tracks."[33] At Musicperk the album was summarized as, "Well, the answer lies within!", the tagline of the film itself.[34]Talaash: The Answer Lies Within tied up with Windows 8 for it's marketing.[35] Aamir Khan promoted the film on the crime detective series C.I.D..The episodes were aired on November 23 and 24,2012.[36][37] Aamir Khan visited Lucknow to promote Talaash: The Answer Lies Within.[38] Aamir Khan will appear in a TV special show 'Nayi Soch Ki Talaash Aamir Ke Saath' to promote Talaash.[39] Aamir Khan also visited Jalandhar for promotion purposes.[40] The premiere of the movie 'Talaash' was held at PVR Cinema in Mumbai on November 29, 2012.[41]Originally scheduled to release in October 2011, the film was postponed to its tentative release date of June 1, 2012.[42] Media reports claimed that the reason behind the delay was due to the similarities with Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani (2012); the director, however, went on to deny the reports.[42] On January 26, 2012, along with a digital poster of the film, the first teaser trailer of Talaash: The Answer Lies Within was released in theatres.[43] Due to Khan's prior commitment plans with his television show, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani announced that the film would no longer be able to release on its tentative date as per planned and would officially release on November 30, 2012[44][45][46] Pre-bookings for Talaash: The Answer Lies Within opened on November 25, 2012 in all multiplexes of India. Talaash was released in 520 screens in overseas markets. It is new overseas record for an Aamir Khan starrer film. 3 Idiots was released in 415 screens overseas.[45][46][47] The estimate for the number of release screens in India is around 2,500.[48]

In February 2012, Reliance Entertainment acquired the distribution rights of the film for INR90 crore (US$16.38 million)[49] whilst its satellite rights were sold for INR40 crore (US$7.28 million).[43]Talaash received positive to mixed reviews from critics in India.[50] Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave Talaash a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars and said "Talaash: The Answer Lies Within is an outstanding film. A taut psychological thriller that keeps you guessing till the end, it leaves you spellbound, leaves you mesmerized, leaves you with an exclamation."[51] Aniruddha Guha of DNA India gave it 3.5 out 5 stars while commenting "Talaash successfully whets the appetite of all the Aamir Khan fans. As for the story, you can always trust Zoya Akhtar to give her best. Talaash is not a flawless film, but it is a fascinating tale that compels one to look beyond that which is evident. You can’t miss this one."[52] Saibal Chatterjee Of NDTV rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, noting"By no means is Talaash the end of your search for the perfect whodunit. But there is so much going for this compelling, slow-burning, well-acted tale set in the dark, grimy underbelly of Mumbai that you can barely take your eye off the screen."[53]

Meena Iyer of The Times of India award the film 3.5 out of 5, adding "You may not like Talaash, if mystery and intrigue set at a languid pace is not what you look out for in your matinee outing."[54] Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave it 3.5 out of 5 while remarking "It's a very watchable film but not an unforgettable one."[55] Aseem Chhabra for Rediff.com gave the film 3.5 out of 5,reviewing "In Talaash, Kagti weaves a complex web, and she colours it with the mood and the atmosphere she and her collaborators create. Talaash has the feel of a noir film.It is an intelligent film but falters towards the end."[56] Anupama Chopra of Hindustan Times gave it 3 out of 5,stating "For once, I also feel the need to explain my rating: I wanted to give four stars to the first half and two stars to the second half, so it averages out to three. See Talaash and do post comments. I'm curious to see how many were as furious as me."[57]

India Today gave 3.5 out 5 to Talaash and stated "Talaash creates its chills primarily tapping into the dark side of the mind, which makes it an unusual Bollywood film. Any resemblance to Joseph Payne Brennan and Donald M. Grant's 1979 novella, Act Of Providence, is purely coincidental."[58] Raja Sen for Rediff has given 2.5 out of 5 stars while adding that "Talaash is well made and strongly acted but is not as enjoyable to watch as it deserved to be."[59] Shubra Gupta of The Indian Express rated the film 2.5 out of 5,remarking "Talaash starts out as a smart, well-written noir-ish thriller, and then slips between the tracks. Pity about the second half."[60] Deccan Chronicle gave 2 out of 5 and stated "See Talaash only if you believe that Aamir Khan can do no wrong. Otherwise you’ll be left with a sinking feeling."[61] The Hindu stated that "It’s not like we haven’t seen anything like this before. If Kahaani used a key scene from a film called Taking Lives as a final twist, Talaash uses one of the most abused endings of this genre."[62] Firstpost stated that Talaash is a brave effort. Bihar-based Manzur Ahmed, his wife, his mother, and his daughter, decide to re-locate to East Pakistan after the partitioning of Hindustan during 1947, following the tussle between Sheikh Mujib Rehman and Pakistan's General Bhutto, which led to the formation of Bangladesh, where Manzur and several other Muslims were forced to re-locate to Pakistan. In order to do this, they cross two borders, one with India and Bangladesh, and the second with India and Pakistan. The route from Bangladesh leads from Dhaka then to Guwahati then to Delhi then to Ajmer then to Bhuj, and then on to Pakistan's Haji Peer. They get as far as Bhuj, but afterward they are assisted by Jaan Mohammad's son, known only as Refugee (Abhishek Bachan), who helps them trek their way across the Rann desert to Atta Mohammad's house in Pakistan. Refugee considers his clients as mere items of luggage and refuses to be emotionally involved with them. Then he meets Nazneen (Kareena Kapoor) and he forgets this rule, and they soon both fall in love with each other. Police on both sides of the border are aware of the refugee traffic and question Refugee and Jaan several times because of this. Then, one day, Refugee assists four men to enter the Indian side of the border. These men then enlist the help of Jaan's other son to get to Delhi. Shortly thereafter, explosions take place in trains, buses, and buildings. Heroine: 5 reasons why it could be Kareena Kapoor's life story

Tarannum Jaan is Chameli: In Bollywood, most of the actors believe that you can only prove your acting skills by doing offbeat films. Following the same trend, Kareena Kapoor also played a prostitute in Sudhir Mishra’s 2004 film ‘Chameli’. In ‘Heroine’, Kareena is seen copying her own ‘Chameli’ look and the character as well.

And the MMS scandal: In ‘Heroine’, Mahi Arora deliberately leaks her sex take just a day before the release of her film. The trick works and Mahi’s film becomes a blockbuster. Remember Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s infamous kissing video. Though Shahid and Kareena claimed it wasn’t their clip, the similarities were just too obvious. Did Kareena deliberately do that?

The famous Priyanka-Kareena war: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was rumoured to be in a relationship with Kareena’s former love Shahid. Reports about their cold looks and clashes are common in tabloids. On Karan Johar’s chat show they openly made fun of each other. Lately in a press conference Priyanka Chopra said that she really admires Kareena and Saif as a couple and is looking forward to their wedding. In the movie, Mahi shares a similar relationship with a rival actress played by Mugdha Godse. They are often seen scheming against each other in the film, but maintain a smile when pose for photographs together.

Add to our list if you found any other similarity between Kareena Kapoor and Mahi Arora...
